I have progressive spinal canal stenosis, and Pregabalin has been muted as a treatment for constant pain and burning.I am in persistent AF and as I take Apixaban I have concerns about the anti platelet effects of this drug., does anyone have an experience to share please.

Pregabalin

Oh dear, it is disappointing that no one can share their experience of Pregabalin, I am in the dark here.
I am not a doctor, but my understanding is that Pregabalin may cause a small fall in the platelet count, but that serious problems are rare. It seems sensible to have a blood count before and after treatment. I imagine your GP would have been aware of a potential problem and was not concerned. Another chat with her might put your mind at rest.

Many thanks Oyster.

Thank you Oyster, For some reason Ihave only just seen your reply.
I have been taking pregabalin for approximately 4/5 months for pain relief which it has helped but am trying to get off slowly as since on it I have had more afib episodes not very bad except one when I ended up in hospital over night. I can’t say I new anything about the anti platelet effects of this drug but until I get off it I also won’t know if it’s that that if effecting my afib so just be careful
