So day three post RF ablation at St George’s and so far so good. The team were amazing! I arrived by 7am and by 8.30am I was on table and going to sleep! I was looked after so well. Initially ablation was predicted 2hrs but apparently when he started he found all four of my pulmonary veins had re connected plus further 2 areas in left atrium needed ablating so in total just over 4 hrs. Not great reaction to anaesthetic but I knew that was likely. Onto ward by 2.30pm and monitored closely. Staff amazing! Few sudden back pains and massive drop in bp when I tried to stand first time but just put back on bed for a couple more hours and loads fluids. Night was fine and monitored continually. Up and walking next morning and even managed a walk to visit a friend on Brodie ward next floor down! I’ve taken it easy once home, bruising is a lot! Throat and neck painful but had a probe scan of heart through oesophagus so was told to expect this. Groin site sore but nothing to worry about. Weirdest thing is I feel as if I can take a deep breath and actually fill my lungs!! Feels brilliant! One month on flecanide, bisoprolol and staying on edoxaban plus another for reflux then hoping to start weening off! Feeling very lucky and grateful for such amazing care and support. ❤️
Good luck to Scoobisu having herd today x

Well done what a joy to have it behind you. Rest now and please don't overdo it in the coming weeks. Slowly does it to get the best results, best wishes.
Now.......Take it easy, rest and take it easy again!
As you're feeling so well there you may be tempted to push yourself, and your healing heart, to do too much too soon. Tuck up with a good book and relax
Helen there was a nice lady who arrived at the same time as you. Unfortunately she was still in when I left on Saturday afternoon and being moved to a ward. I gave her the info to join the forum I hope she does so we can support her. X
Who did your procedure at St Georges? Last March I had Dr Behr not under GA, but it was a long 3half hours plus of lying still. Not too bad though. You sound as if they were all very good to you and here's hoping all will be a success.
I had Zia Zuberi. Only been under his care for last year as previously had all care at Brompton. He has a clinic local to me in Guildford but does his GA procedures st St. George’s. Lovely man, explains everything so well.
