Good morning everyone. A quick question - has anyone tried acupuncture for AF? And if so how successful was it? My reason for asking is because my chemo has been out on hold due to my AF and I'm keen to get on with the chemo asap.

Hello

A word of caution. Acupuncture is not a benign procedure. Please do some research. An example, I suffered a life-threatening Golden Staff infection, as a result of an acupuncture treatment (done in an acupuncture clinic by a certified practitioner). A simple fact, any time the skin is punctured, regardless of the procedures used, there is a a risk.

Thank you for this. Something to think about especially as my imune system is compromised by the chemo.

HI, I tried acupuncture after seeing Dr Guptas video.(Yorkcardiology on youtube)I went three times, and I definitely feel my AF episodes were fewer and more spaced.I have PAF.I am about to begin a course of six sessions.I do love the forced relaxation of the spa experience too, and benefit from the mindfulness bodyscan perhaps it's a combination.Dr Gupta does suggest Yoga and perhaps I'll try that too.Any activity that reduces stress seems to help.I think its worth trying, just seek out the best practitioner that you can, because that proficiency of your acupuncturist makes all the difference. I do hope your Chemo can be re-started very soon.

I am currently using one. What I like about it is that I get more results than I expected. For an example, my PD meds caused my lips to do a 90 degree turn when I spoke. That made it hard for people to understand me. I did botox 3 treatments every 90 days and that didn't affect my 💋 moving sideways. One acupuncture treatment straightened my 💋 Plus added much more tone to my voice. People can understand and hear me now.

Unfortunately acupuncturist's are like any other professional, some are very good (if you find one like I did, consider yourself fortunate) and some don't add to the positive reputation of the acupuncture discipline.

Not what you're looking for?
