I am so glad I found this forum

I have never joined any onIine sites before so this forum is my first and it’s brilliant - apart from all the useful information, it’s by turns informative , emotional , interesting, thought provoking, inspiring, carefully monitored, inclusive and just downright hilarious! And I have also learned about many useful aspects of the spiteful condition we are all dealing with. Not at all what I had expected! Thank you everybody!

It's great isn't it!

I think of everyone on here as my AF family. They're the only people who truly understand all the effects of AF. Feel I know them well, but there's so many I feel close to that I've never met.

We have had a few get together's in Devon, but unfortunately fate has prevented us from organising any recently.

Yes, totally agree. Every time I meet someone with AF, I recommend this Forum.

I agree with all your comments; I joined shortly after my AFib diagnosis and I read it every day and catch up later when I can't. I have dabbled in other forums where keyboard warriors rule, I backed off very quickly! Super bunch of people on here, though.

What’s a keyboard Warrior? Love the name! I sort of imagine them in Nordic costume with horns on their helmets sitting at their keyboards ready to do battle and destroy the opposition and colonise the WWW. 😂😂😂😂

I like the term too! Usually (but not always) a meek quiet person who wouldn't say boo to a goose. However, at a key board and usually under a pseudonym, will rant and rage and resort to personal insults and threats. However, and sadly, there is a hard core of keyboard warriors and trolls (the dividing line can be blurred) who post utter filth and lies and who have no conscience.

This forum was the source of great reassurance at a low point for me. Common sense calm advice.

Wholeheartedly agree. Reading about other people's experience is very useful. I have learned so much here.

Ditto to what Jean said. Glad it’s helping. You gotta have a bit of craic in your life, no matter what this miserable condition reduces you to!

Had to google “craic” - a new favorite word! I love that this forum teaches me new vocabulary along with all the other useful info 😂

Very Celtic. I blame the Irish.

It is a fantastic forum, full of kindness coupled with a bit of fun and insights into how we can look after ourselves...many a time I have had far better advice here than anywhere.

As Jean said,it's hard for non members of the AF Club to understand, here we are among friends who do,and 24/7!

Totally agree, it’s brilliant, lovely atmosphere.

I found it by searching “scared of cardioversion” and I really was scared, but by the time I went in for it I had read so much about peoples experiences and how it’s really not a big deal that I was completely calm about it.

I’ve learned so much and I’m very grateful to all the posters who share so much knowledge with us : )

I feel the same. Great group of caring people here💜

Right? Knowing I wasn't the only one having to deal with AF was comforting. I would have gone insane if not for this forum.

I agree. Certainly helped me feel less anxious about this condition. Since diagnosis several friends have told me they have the same condition. I had myocarditis a month prior to my first af episode and still question if they are related. O n colchicine for the heart inflammation for 3 months, type of gout medication. I had vertebrae fracture, slip in shower, 3 years ago and had pain most days since yet since being on colchicine, not a twinge! On apaxaban for af and so far so good. But thanks everyone for support via this forum. Stay safe.

Yes me too! As a 35 year old busy mum.. I’m going through a very scary time with AF!! And I know nobody who had experienced it! This forum reassures me daily!! X
