I can’t be sure but this is most likely to be Ectopic beats.

I get this all the time and have had for many years.

Whilst very uncomfortable and often a worry, the truth is that in the main Ectopics are benign and just a very irritating burden that AF sufferers often have to endure.

Deep slow breathing can help.

I have this daily and my cardiologist seems unconcerned although it drives me nuts and I find it worrying. It's scary I agree and winds me up, feels awful. I absolutely hate and dread it. It keeps me constantly on edge.

A lot of people take Magnesium (Taurate) which seems to reduce ectopics in some people, might be worth investigating. Check out Dr Sanjay Gupta’s videos on Ectopics and Magnesium......

Got my ectopics under control with a combination of Magnesium Glycinate in the morning and Magnesium Taurate at tea time. Has taken a month or so for me to get to the point where I am not feeling them at all. Just ordered more to take to Spain with me as we are going for a little break away from winter. Could be worth a try maybe but check with Doc if you are on other meds for contra indications. Hope that helps.

Hi , I also get EPTOPIC Beats (missed beats) since I started on AF medication Flecinaide , didn’t get them before that . Seems to come on after I’ve eaten sometimes and depends what I eat . Your doctor doesnt day much as he doesn’t actually know why it happens ( but he can’t say that to you as you may not think he’s a god like he thinks he is ) , taking a cardiovascular magnesium supplement is supposed to help , give it a try ,

What did the cardiologist advise the pauses were? Presumably he is not worried if he has not taken any action?

I take magnesium glycinate as well but what seems to allow for far less ictopics is taking Hawthorn daily. I take a capsule with the extract and the berries. I came upon this from reading other forums.

I also recommend the use of hawthorn, its an herb that helps and strengthens the heart in many ways. Only contradiction apparently is for people on digoxin as it they may need to lower their digoxin dose.

Brit1, what dosage of hawthorn have you settled on? Do you feel it lowers your energy level or excitement with life at all?

I actually use the tincture (it is alcohol but very tiny amounts) and I take 1 dropperful in water 3xday. I would think that Hawthorn capsules 250mg-3xday would be an option. The hawthorn herb (berries/leaf/flower) is a very safe herb and certainly doesn't cause any lowering of energy etc. herbwisdom.com/herb-hawthor...
