Thank you! I was told I had a fib in October and have been on xeralto and dielzan. I had a cardio version and it lasted about 12 days and now back into a fib. Just not sure what to do next.

Hello young person ,I was diagnosed with afib 4 years ago, Im on ADIZEM -XL 180mg, obviously i get a bit slowed down but then you have to pace yourself, just keep taking the medications presribed , if you have any side affects to the meds talk to your doctor. Life still goes on , i`ll be 71 in a couple of days , I can still do my beekeeping, although i dont climb ladders collecting swarms a bees anymore.

Awesome, thank for the encouragement and also happy birthday. I am just looking for a long term fix.

Have you read the information on the AFA website referenced above by doodle68? You may feel you have time to do this, since you are not apparently unwell, and you are on an anticoagulant which is important.

You may find you get better feedback if you in turn set aside some time to inform yourself, and give us more detail about your AF story.

As far as I know, the members here contribute their time and expertise for free. They want to help. We need to make the effort to help them help us.

Right now just stay on the medicine. My cardiologist is out until January 8th. I had an ekg today just to come firm.

Have an ablation as soon as possible. Medications simply do not work in the long run. Afib only gets worse in time and the longer you wait the harder it is to ablate. I'm two months post second ablation. (Cryoablation this time). Considering hybrid procedure if this one fails. I function well while in afib but I know it's damaging my heart. Feels much better to be in NSR. I'm 56. First afib episode at age 28. Heart attack in 1992 at age 31. Had angioplasty back then and 3 stents in 2007. Afib advanced to persistent 6 years ago. Tried many drugs. Amiodarone worked best but not a good drug long term. Nip it now wth ablation while success rates are highest. Every procedure is a risk but risk is low. Good luck!
