AFA members in Norfolk, England

Are there any members living in Norfolk, England under the care of a Cardiologist at the Norfolk & Norwich hospital?

To start a group which is recognised by the AFA you will need to get a medical lead. If you want to start a social group, there are a few around the country - people advertise a venue & time and see if you get replies.

Jeanjeanie organised a breakfast at a Hotel in Exeter in November and about 20 people attended. As to asking for commitment - having been involved in a few on going groups - it’s really difficult to ask people for commitment and to keep going with regular groups.

At the hospital we have a meeting for newly diagnosed AF patients about once a year - a local EP gives a talk, Arrythmia nurses are available to answer questions and a patient volunteer gives a talk.

There is one group I know of which has regular meetings which I think Volunteer Rosy has a lot to do with so maybe be PM her for advice.

What sort of group are you thinking of? One with medical input or social?

I was testing to see the water. I'll be talking to the Arrhythmia nurse and a Cardiologist later in the year. Given their workload their level of involvement may be minimal.
