Question is, how leaky? I was concerned when my recent cardio report listed a leaky mitral valve but my cardiologist told me most (can't remember stats) women my age (74) have a degree of leakage but usually not significant - mine isn't. It is of course one of the causes of AF. So unless you have been told you need surgery I hope that's reassuring.
Agree with Buffafly, many of have been told we have a leaky valve and it's a common problem. If you haven't been told that you need to have it fixed then try not to worry.
I also have AF and have a leaky Atrial valve and Mitral valve. I’ve been told like you that lots of people of my age 69 have leaky valves. They said it’s just because we are having investigations forAF that it’s been found. Have been told not to worry at all.
Thank you for your comments they have helped a lot
