So had a follow up yesterday.
Consultant says I am an “urgent” case for Ablation, so am going for it.
He’s also changed one of my meds’ from Bisoprolol which makes me feel terrible to Ira-TIL SR.
Anyone had this drug/opinions?

That should read “Vira-TIL SR”
Hadn’t heard of it Alan but Dr Google suggests it could be VERAPAMIL which is used by many here on the forum. I have no experience but I’m sure others have. I take Diltiazem, which is another calcium channel blocker without any significant problems......good luck with the ablation
If it is Verapamil it is widely used and mostly with good results for fast Afib.I have had for some years with positive results.
All the best for procedure still waiting for my cardioversion, reduced my dosage on bisoprolol and feel much better, people are affected differently when they take it, thinking of you, let us all know how you get on
I took 120mg verapam modified release for 22 months. Little in the way of side effects, slight exercise intolerance. Unfortunately my AF developed.and I was put on flecainide but with dituazem 200mg , another ccb, which was a lot worse in exercise intolerance. Tiredness breathlessness and brain fog!
I much preferred verapamil. Although I think i was oversubscribed on the diltiazem. I think 100mg would have been plenty.
Thanks. Interesting my main complaint about the Bisoprolol was the lethargy. It will take some weeks to clear I’m sure. Only took my first dose of new dry today so we’ll see!
