House Brick to Lego brick

!What a difference! A few months ago I had a 24 hour monitor the size of an average house brick. How nice to find my 7 day event monitor fitted today, is more akin to Lego. Not as small or neat as a Zio patch but not too much bigger.

Have to press a button if I feel dizzy or have chest pain or palpitations. I have lots of replacement pop on electrode patches so I can take it off for a shower = very civilised. Follow up soon - will let you know how I get on.

That sounds quite efficient. The 24 hour and 7 days monitors I've worn have been like early 90's mobile phone bricks!

It’s called an R Test ECG recorder. I will try to post a photo (tech averse!) tomorrow, next to an everyday item for size comparison, when I take it off to shower. Only pressed the event record button once for palpitations during choir practice. Apparently I was supposed to keep still for 15 seconds to get a clear reading, but didn’t read that instruction until later.

Amazed that Eastbourne (aka ‘God’s Waiting Room’) has such advanced tech haha.

Lucky you. Just had 4 day monitor and was told no showering. Yuck. Hung head over bath to wash hair.

That was what I was expecting to have to do too. See also my reply to Jedimasterlincoln.

Hi

I fit the 7 day tapes, they are smaller because they don't record every beat. They record if you press the button and also record fast and slow rates and whatever the tech has programmed to be looked for. I believe the 24 hour tapes have to bigger because they record every heart beat. I'm surprised Hylda was told no washing for 4 days! Longer monitors can be taken off for showers/bathing. My patients often surprised how much the RTest 4 costs - £2500. So maybe some centres just prefer they are left on.

Not what you're looking for?
