Hi everyone I wonder if you can help. After wearing a Holter monitor the EP told me I had Atrial Fibrallation and SVT. Now during the ablation he could only trigger the Atrial Fibrallation hense why he decided to perform the Cryoblation.
All my attacks feel similar some longer and slightly worse. My main symptom is feeling lightheaded and my chest beating out of my chest and super fast. Sometimes I feel my heart beating in my head super fast then i can’t hear it then it comes back again.
Do any of you know how you can tell if it’s SVT or Atria Fibrallation. Just new to it all and trying to understand all my symptoms especially after having the ablation just trying to keep a diary of any attacks.
Hope you can help
Thanks

AF will be an irregular pulse, SVT will be a fast regular pulse. Fast AF will be a fast irregular pulse
Hi Amy, quick answer, feel your pulse in your neck. If it is very fast but regular that is SVT. If it is fast but very irregular it is AF. It does sound as though you still have the SVT particularly as you had a cryoablation which is for AF, 😢 sorry.
I have no idea if this idea is right, but I think you were on Flecainide which can actually cause tachycardia in some people. I was taken straight off my meds at ablation for that reason. Possibly once your body gets over the physical and mental shock of what sounded like traumatic treatment the SVT may settle, hope so 💕
