The electro cardiologist prescribe sotahexal 60 mg x 2pd. I still have arrhythmia. After reading the pamphlet I see that it is a betablocker because my heartrate is down to 60.
I wrote to him and he said I can stop it. Now I want to know if anybody is using hart rhythm medication that works. Arricor has too many side effects.

Hello Anita, thought I would make contact as don’t want you to think you are being ignored! I wonder if you are from the USA because I see from google there is a link between sotahexal and sotalol which is not recommended for AF here in the UK. Also, I cannot find anything about Arricor on Google either. In the UK, there are a number of rhythm drugs used but the only one I have used is Flecainide and for me it was effective and there were no adverse side effects. Hope this helps ........
Anita, I think Arycor may be known as Amiodarone here in the UK and if so, many here would sympathise with your concerns. Although it is an effective drug, many struggle with the side effects. Virtually all drugs associated with AF carry some side effects. Probably the only thing you can do now is discuss which your consultant, alternatives that might be more suitable for you. Hope you manage to find a way forward.
Just saying hello. Have not heard of the two drugs you mention. Arricor I can't find a ref to anywhere tho "cor" on the end suggests heart!
I take low dose flecainide which controls my af ( have only had one episode since starting flec 7 years ago.) Do have a look at AFA/ arrythmia alliance website lots of helpful info. Has arricor got another name? Best wishes Wendyb
Thanks Bagrat. Yes it is Arycor. It seems that Flecainide has a lot of side affects. I will have to consult with my doctor because I am also on Xarelto 20mg.
Have found arycor is trade name for amiodarone. Many people on here have been on it or still are. It too has side effects - some causing longer term issues but if it is necessary for your condition we have to rely to some extent on the doctors treating us. Most people on here are on anticoagulants ( thank goodness). I take flecainide and apixaban. Flecainide suits many and is not good for others
