Water tablets and AF

I’ve just read that water tablets are strongly correlated with AF. Is there a better type of tablet for the same purpose which doesn’t have this link with AF? Or a way of ensuring water tablets don’t produce AF? I have only ever taken one water tablet and already I don’t like them.

Do follow your medics advice on diuretics.

Many years ago (2008) I was stopped the ' water ' tablet Bendroflurazide when admitted to CCU with fast AF. Although I had not returned to sinus rhythm I was discharged with a considerably reduced rate around 120 bpm a few days later.

At home I gradually became more breathless and to cut a long story short was admitted about 3 weeks later with heart failure...pulmonary oedema...which was resolved with Furosemide and Spironolactone, two more 'water' tablets . I still take Furosemide.

I hope you get on OK. I often feel so much better after taking Furosemide, particularly if I have left off taking for a day or two or more.
