Taper off Flecainide or Propafenone?

Can I stop taking Flecainide suddenly to switch to a new medication or should I taper off. I have Afib and mild hypertension under good control

When I was changed from Flecainide to Sotalol for a brief period a few years ago. I had to totally stop Flec for several days to let it clear my body before starting the new tablets. I would ring and ask your AF nurse (if you have one). I think its important to seek advice and find the correct way to go about this.

Call the medic who switched your meds and ask for their advice. You could also check with your pharmacist for their opinion too. Good luck.

Yup, I just forgot to ask the doc how to taper. Often, they are short on specfics and slow to answer phone calls, if they answer at all.

I have recently adjusted medications including flecanaide but please do so under medical guidance for safety reasons. Best wishes
