Hi, anyone else on here take Multaq. Any problems?

Multaq
Dronedarone (Multaq)_needs regular testing for liver and kidney function. It was hoped to be the answer to lots of prayers but sadly has not proven to be so and is not used much at present here in UK.
I've been on it since last december with no problems, no afib. I was curious because I haven't seen it mentioned on here. Most posts are from UK. I'm in US. It is very expensive.
Just got put on it yesterday because I was having side effects from Flecainide and Digoxin. It was expensive.
Been on it since end July before 2nd cardioversion. Feel better on it than on beta blockers - LFTs and Kidney function being monitored monthly.
Yes, multag worked 6 weeks for me and then back into AFIB. Also have to have liver function tests as it is hard on liver.
I took it for about a week, and had to stop - I had bad heartburn, and was sick to my stomach a lot. Lost 4 lbs that week. Here in the US it is pretty expensive and you have to have laboratory work to check liver and kidney function every 3 months.
I'm now taking flecainide and tolerating that pretty well.
Multaq was supposed to be Amiodarone without the toxic side effects. It did minimize some of those side effects and reduced the toxicity, but it was not nearly effective as an anti afib drug. My cardiologist no longer prescribes.
