Hi

Do you know why you are falling over? Are you light-headed due to low BP? If so, perhaps you should see your GP to review your meds.

What are you anxious about, specifically? Are you on an anticoagulant and concerned about bruising and bleeding?

My advice would be to go and talk to your GP, as this could be caused by one of the medicines you are taking reacting with another.

I find different doctors add a tablet for whatever ailment we have now, without checking how this could react with existing treatments.

Are you worried about going out, and having a fall?

I have had similar problems due to a neurological problem. I still don't have a proper diagnosis. ( Waiting list to see a Neurologist is unacceptably long )

Try to establish exactly why you are falling. Is it dizziness ? Is it lack of concentration? Are you tripping over things?

I was tripping up because my left leg isn't picking up. Even a slight slope can cause a problem. I have to concentrate, concentrate, concentrate.

I bought a walker/ shopper/ seat for £99. It gives me support and I can sit on it if I'm tired. Walkandrest.com Tel 01268 726661. It has given me a degree of confidence and freedom. I can put a tray on the seat to use it as a trolley in the house. It is far, far superior to the Zimmer frame supplied by the NHS which distorts your walking.

Thank you no dizziness or anything I can put my finger on

I’m trying to concentrate really hard too

Sorry, but unable to advise on what might be causing you to fall, but I am concerned about the possible consequences of a fall if you are taking an anticoagulant. Can I suggest you use a walking aid until the issue is resolved or at least until your confidence returns. Hopefully, with the right medical help this will not be long, but you should do what you can now to reduce the risk of having a fall.....all the best....

I think it would be a good idea to see your GP especially as there is no obvious reason. I tend to fall but I know why so just have to be extra careful.

Thanks Hock I will check that out it makes sense because when my dad (who had this same issue) and I walked together we would bump together and apart. He used to get called Mr Wobbly. ☺️

Yes...as a Social Worker doing my own eval noticed rug at top of steps not taped or tacked. We tend not to notice until an oops happens. Nice to learn from each other. Love this site.
