Afib was over for one glorious week. I am on Solatol and have been for 8 weeks.
Back to the Cardiologist on the 23rd for who knows what. I have continuous Afib so heart is working away like crazy. HB is so much higher now than my week of freedom. Just blowing off some frustrations.

I did read once that miracles rarely last long. Apparently the Bible writers did go back a month later to confirm each of them and were sorely disappointed, but those accounts never made it into the Book!
I gather that it is tachycardia rather than AF that is what needs sorting so when you say "working like crazy", is that what you mean? In which case perhaps asking your doctor for a higher dose of beat-blocker might help?
Thanks for the reply. It is Afib, tacycardia is usually related to heart disease and all indications are that I don't have coronary artery disease. Seeing Dr on Monday to see what is next.
Oh dear - I can see that I could have been much clearer. My fault! Sorry. Insomnia morning-mind and eyes.
AF is an arrhythmia of the atria that often (but not by any means always…) causes symptomatic issues because it causes ventricular tachycardia.
It is tachycardia that can weaken the left ventricle’s pumping function (“ejection fraction”) and the valve so needs bringing under control - more importantly, I understand, than controlling the atria which are quivering away, thanks to AF.
Tachycardia is a persistent heartbeat over 100 and is a feature of a few arrhythmias - as well (I guess) as a symptom related to some structural and circulatory heart problems.
I find flecainide good so far. Been on it for a year. It sounds like you have tachycardia when you feel your heart is racing and I am on 1.25 bisoprolol, 50mgs flecainide twice a day, apixaban. Good luck
Sotalol did not work for my husband and cardiologist changed it to flecanide 100 mg 2x a day and 2.5 mg concor which is bisoprolol. Efforts to reduce dose by half did not work so he is back on it and works well. It’s been 11 months and all is well.
Sounds like you might be in fastish AF persistently. See what your cardiologist says. My brother reached this point (we both have it) and they increased his dose of BBs. He's doing well. Heart adapts to persistent AF apparently. 🤞🤞 For you.
