Not sure we are the right place to help Charles being specialists in atrial fibrillation here. People, with AF taking anticoagulants may experience blood in the mouth from time to time as a result of nocturnal nose bleeds but not on a regular basis. I think you need to keep on to the doctors for advice and treatment.
I have had this problem for 2-3 years, bitter taste wakes me up 4-5 times a night and I spit out dark bloodstain saliva, don't get much sleep, I have had all the tests different depts. and at my wits end, all the specialists say " we dont know where it is coming from" pathetic. They include my AF man, E N T, cancer( i had bowl cancer op 2015) gastro, I am 81 now and was fit not so long ago. Cannot walk far anymore.
My own feeling it is to do with either Apixaban or bisopropolol or Lisinopril. I take all three.
I have saved particularly bad tissues that I have to spit into and wave them at the Drs 'cause I'm sure they dont get it !
