Just started on 3.75 of this, is it safe to drink alcohol with it?

Bisoporol
Since for most people alcohol contributes to AF you decide.
I suppose it depends on how seriously you are taking your condition.
Yes, it is safe - but you may find alcohol has more effect on you and alcohol triggers AF for many people. If you do drink, take it easy!
Hello swansong75 didn't you post earlier to say you had just started taking Bisoprolol and that you were concerned it wasn't working because your heart rate and BP were high?
No one can tell you what to do but if I had just started taking a medication to help my heart I would want to give it the best chance of working and that would mean not adding alcohol to the mix.
In moderation is fine for me. By that for me means tea during the week then a few beers at the weekend with a glass of wine (red) or three. That has been my " habit" for twenty years. Also enjoy a couple of cups of coffee (not the decaffeinated rubbish) and a chocolate bar on a Tuesday. Real rock n roll!
I’d take it with water myself
Haven't had alcohol since December U don't like mixing tablets with alcohol especially those for my heart even if I'm told I can
Hiya I’m ok if i stick to a couple ! Do like half of Guinness when I’m watching the rugby 🏉
Hi Swansong75, In my view Bisoprolol isn't safe with anything...period !!
Nasty evil drug in my opinion ! Ask your GP to experiment with another
drug on you. Be careful and enjoy the rest of your life...be happy!!!
Bisoprolol is not safe full stop in my opinion. Avoid it at all costs. It is a nasty cheap extremely powerful poison
Bisoprolol limits your heart rate somewhat, alcohol has a side effect of increasing it, so they will be opposing each other. However, there is no indication that you can't indulge, although as others have said alcohol can trigger their AF. It doesn't trigger mine, and I sometimes over indulge at beer festivals and any social events when I'm not driving.
high blood pressure will insidiously remodel your heart and cause you more afib. You have 2 choices:
Basically start the epic search for a magic mix of pills that will enable you to continue your existing lifestyle.
Or take this affliction as a wake up call to change your lifestyle. Dump the booze, lose the coffee and get your weight down which will directly affect your blood pressure for the better. Start to plan a more active lifestyle and get regular gentle exercise on a daily basis. With a bit of perserverance you may find yourself improving?
