Ablation day
Hope all goes well Good luck x
Thank you
Best of luck 👍
Good luck and don't forget to read our fact sheet on Recovery. Rest more rest and drink lots of water.
Hope it went/is going well 💖
Good luck and please let us know how it all went.
Well it’s 4 am at Papworth and all in all I seem to be in pretty good shape. Although there is some chest pain the headaches seem to have disappeared and I suspect with this paracetamol the remaining discomfort will ease. The entry wound bled somewhat during the afternoon, but hopefully when they take another look that will have settled.
In recovery yesterday afternoon I had a very uncomfortable chest, almost a burning sensation which was dealt with from codein and has since not returned.
So fingers firmly crossed, discharge around 10am to go and lay on the sofa for a couple of days. So far no AF...
Thanks for best wishes
So glad it all went well Alexander 😀 little bit of BIG ADVICE! please, please, rest and I mean do nothing for as long as you can , don’t think just because you feel better your heart is because I no that my long rest period probably helped with my outcome from my procedure. It was the best advice given to me by bob on here as well as hydrated. Some people start running and say well I felt great? I can tell you it took over 6 months for me to come close to recovery and I definitely was not one of them that was jumping around or walking miles . Be careful and don’t over do it , I was not trying to walk for at least 3 weeks I no that might sound like a long time but I am glad I listened and took it very slowly. Your heart has a period time to heal so let it heal gently. Also things may get a little bumpy on your recovery but I found talking to my rhythm nurse and lowering my blocker helped me . I wish you a very successful outcome and please be patient and rest rest rest 😉
Best wishes Sam ❤️
Good luck!
Good luck hope it went well.
Hope all is going well Remember !!!! rest rest rest x

Hi. I hope all went well for you. My husband was there for the same last October. Who did his ablation?
Hi. It’s me again. Yes I forgot to say that whatever the hospital told you, you will need to rest for many weeks. It took my husband 4 months. So be good .
May I ask how old your husband was and what physical shape he was in at the time of the ablation, please netie?
Yes my husband was and still is good physical shape. He used to tow for Zambia when he worked there. He is 71 and very active still. Must whatever you age your heart must heal. It’s not about stamina. It’s the heart having time to heal.
Yes, I'm discovering that! It will be 2 weeks on Monday since my ablation, and I am very tired today. I took that week off work and returned a week later, and must admit 2 weeks would've been easier. Thankfully I have a desk job so it's been easier, but I took a 20-minute walk on Tuesday and have really felt it since!
Are you actually in the U.K. or are you talking about Dr Fynn in USA
UK at Papworth - I have I must admit felt pretty good since op except for persistent tiredness!
Ah yes I’m thinking of you. My husband is doing pretty well. After about three or four months he asked my husband to trial a new patch that would look at what is heart is doing. We were a day away from driving to our home in Spain when he telephoned us at home (he was actually on holiday) but when he read the results he rang us immediately and advised us not to go and my husband probably need a pacemaker. I can’t speak highly enough of that EP cardiologist.
You will be fine. Expect a few little ectopic beats that just you heart healing. But do not over do it. Listen to your heart. I’m right there with you .
Ah Simon Finn is very good. He did my husband,s. Did he say if he got them all ?
Once again thanks for your best wishes, at hone now and defiantly taking it easy
