Is it ok to go to the dentist I am very nervous of them

Is it ok to visit the dentist I am really nervous about it .

Assuming you are asking if it is OK to go to the dentist whilst being an AF sufferer and maybe on Anticoagulants, then you should have no reason to worry.

Obviously make your dentist aware.

The only caveat is you should ask the dentist to only use adrenaline free local anaesthetic. Adrenaline can cause havoc with heart rhythm problems.

Hi Pete, Thanks for your reply, I was going for cleaning only, had a check up which was fine, but I had heard that adrenaline was not good for AF and mentioned it to the dentist and she said it wouldn't be a problem, but having read your reply and other older posts, I have cancelled the clean and will find a different dentist, thanks again, Pauline

I once avoided a clean by three months regular flossing. Turned out the need was my own fault. The dentist even compromised with me saying, I know it is a hassle to floss, but at least do regularly the part that suffers.
