Exhausted

Hi all so after 18 months of being ok after my ablation my af kicked off again, I've been to see the cardiologist who has suggested another ablation, but we decided we would try and up the medication first and see how that goes, happily it's settled the af and heart is ticking nicely, the only problem I'm having is by the time teatime comes i feel drained and when I do anything like fast walking, hovering or a bit of gardening it leaves me so exhausted, I physically feel sick and all I can do is sit until it passes. Could it be the new dose of medication I'm on ? , I'm currently on 100mg flecanide twice a day and 7.5 bisoprolol a day x

Probably but I find hovering exhausting too. All that arm flapping! I was lucky as I was only on atenolol for a few months and flecainide for even less before switching to propafanone and no beta blocker. Maybe discuss dosage with your doctor?

That's a lot of drugs. Have you tried smaller doses to see where the AF comes back, if at all ?

7.5 mg Bisoprolol wiped me out totally, even a tiny dose. Have you been taking it for very long? I was on Flec for years and it did not make me tired. Maybe reduce the Bisop gradually.

I've been on 2.5mg bisoprolol twice a day and 50mg flecanide twice a day since my ablation 18 months and ive been fine on that, Dr upped my bisoprolol to 7.5 about 8 weeks ago when things kicked off again n then cardiologist doubled my flecanide as well about 3 weeks ago but it's only since I've been taking the extra flecanide that I've been feeling awful

Maybe talk to EP again and another ablation may be needed. Was last years your first?? And how often are you getting AF?

Ive had three and had a short episode of AF a year after the third. I now have 10 sec flutters maybe every couple of days which I try and ignore! And I know what I need to do to keep me as AF free as I ever can be...never say never!!

I'm sure it'll be the Bisoprolol. I'm now on 7.5mgm as well as 100mgm Flecainide twice a day. Since starting on the Bisoprolol have not felt 'well' - on even minimal exertion feel exhausted, SOB a lot, fleeting aches all over, low or no energy and so on. Think it's quite a potent 'cocktail' & brings its own problems.

Think i agree with all you've said its a potent cocktail n like you makes me feel ill, but not sure i wanna feel like this, am even starting to think that maybe another ablation isn't a bad idea after all

1.25 mg bisoprolol wiped me out, I cannot imagine 7. 5Mg!

Flecainide itself did not affect me much although I only took 2 × 50 mg with another 100mg in an emergency
