Cardioversion on 29 May

Hello,

Have just been telephoned to say that I am booked in for a cardioversion on 29 May. I am going to be away from 22 to 28 May so unlikely that I will get any information posted to me until I get back. The nurse has arranged for me to have my bloods done on the morning of the cardioversion. I am not worried about the cardioversion itself just wondering if there is anything any of you found useful to do in the days leading up to the procedure or anything you were told to do?

Not really much to prepare except you should be nil by mouth from midnight the night before.

Nothing to worry about.

Thanks Pete. Not worried at all. Looking forward to it.

Make sure you take your anti coagulant ...Apixaban?.....as instructed. Good idea to eat at least one banana daily to ensure your potassium is at optimum level and keep well hydrated.

Good luck...hope it works for you !

Thanks Sandra. I do eat a banana - I try to eat a lot of fruit and veg. Have to admit I am bad at drinking because I have bladder problems but will do the best I can leading up to 29th. Really looking forward to getting this done finally. I have been told there is a good chance this will work for me so keeping everything crossed.
