So

I have a recent Pacemaker fitted for AFib, I also have heart failure and many other ailments such as Diabetes etc . The list goes on with Tablets I’m taking and the allergies.

So do any of you wear a Bracelet, do you have a particular choice.

You need Medic Alert. I have had one of their bracelets for 10 years. A nurse helps you on the phone to fill in your medical record which they keep for 24/7 access by phone. You buy from them a bracelet or pendant with basic emergency details engraved on it. Cost per year £26 phone : 01908 951045. Hope this helps .

I swear by my Medic Alert. They are accessible for information worldwide. Excellent service.

I have been wearing the cheap and cheerful silicone rubber ones you can find on eBay, or on Amazon. Mine reads 'ANTICOAGULANT' and 'APIXABAN MEDICATED', together with the MedAlert symbol. Mine were two for six pounds. They do stretch over time, and then break after a few months. I have two others, but find them either too heavy or too uncomfortable. They can be expensive, and difficult to find to suit your tastes and preference.

I also carry the card issued with the Eliquis brand of apixaban.

If you are worried about a major bleed, have a look at the post by beardy_chris called 'A major bleed while on Apixaban'. You will find that reassuring. I think the bracelets are a very good idea.

One of the useful things about Medic Alert is that they keep on file a record of all my Conditions, Medications, Hospital patient number, doctors etc They also have my emergency contacts info, next of kin etc. All of it is accessible using the MA phone number on the bracelet which also has my membership number and a summary of my health problems. Calls can be made from anywhere in the world 24/7. This is particularly invaluable for someone like me who lives alone and has no family in this country.
