I was diagnosed with AF in 2017. I had replaced my old blood pressure monitor with a new Omron Evolv. This new monitor detects irregular heartbeats and it was pretty consistently showing that I had irregularity. So following an ECG and echocardiogram it was confirmed I had Paroxysmal AF.
Looking back I can now see that I had some of the symptoms of AF - light-headiness, racing pulse, trips to the bathroom every 10 minutes, lack of energy, but it was only when my new BP monitor alerted me to an irregular heartbeat that I did anything about it. And it may well have saved me from a stroke, etc.
UPDATE:
I had both RF and cryoablations on 8th March 2023 at Basildon CTC in order to help try and fix Atrial Fibrillation and Flutter.

Thanks. That’s really great news that they work for you.
My cardio doctor couldn’t believe I wasn’t already on an anti-coagulant with the Perindopril and wrote quite a strong letter to my GP. I’m now getting used to taking the pills each morning and also a couple in the evening too. But do feel much better when the rhythm is stable.
