Have been to Glenfield for one consultation with Dr Stafford, very nice and helpful man. Haven't had an ablation, he's happy for me to lose weight and see if I can control the AF that way.

My view is that area is not the prime concern, the ability and experience of the EP (or surgeon in general) is far more important, and can have a life-long effect. Typically an ablation involves 2 EP visits + a 1 night hospital stay. We are almost as far from London as you are, and always end up choosing London consultants. In all cases we have been fortunate enough to end up with superb results. My ablation was done by Richard Schilling.
