Yes! You should report it ASAP because unfortunately it means the medications are not suitable for you. I had an ablation so I could stop taking Propafenone and Diltiazem which had the same effect.

Thank you Buffafly for the reply

I did report it but i hope is not going to affect the EP physiologist's decision about the ablation as i am hoping to get it done soon

I hope your ablation went well and you are A fib free

Thanks again

I experienced it once while on flecenaide. Paramedics caught it on an ECG

Thanks ncernaa

It is frightening ! I just called my cardiologist he suggested a pace maker which is very confusing as my EP physologist was happy to do the ablation however ,we didnt tell the EP about the block yet!

so not sure what to do

I wish you well

I had an ablation because of the pauses in HB and no longer took medication, but my EP said I would need a pacemaker if I still needed medication. I was free of AF and medication for two years but now AF is back so I am not sure what will be next.

Ah sorry to hear the AF is back hopefully is temporarly and would respond to PIP .I had third degree heart block after my first proprafenon dose 600 and bisoprolo 5 mg almost 4 months a go but the block totally gone and I used the PIP once after with no block or any SE so I was happy to certain extent w the PIP but The AF is recurring once a month and in my last episode 28 hrs after the 300 proprafenon and 2.5 bisoprolol I had the 3 missed beats 3:1 block and then2:1 block during asleep

It must just be me but I am not sure what you are describing - can you say a bit more and what you felt? I ask as I take 10 mg a day of Bisopropol and I feel like I constantly have missed beats but from my persistent afib. Thank you

And that could well be ectopics. As far as I know the only way to really tell is by reading an ECG. Perhaps you could ask your doctor if you are concerned.

I just had my 6th Afib episode on Sat am I was already on Bisoprolol 2.5 so I took the prorafenon 300 as pip

I went to the ER put on monitor went into SR after 4 hrs of proprafennon then i took my morning 2.5 bisoprolo monitor was fine till 28 hrs after proprafenon started to get the missed beats while asleep when I am awake monitor is normal so far ut happens only during asleep!

I'm not medically trained but I understand that heart block is a constant very slow rhythm, so it sounds as if you have ectopics or pauses. The monitor will sort out what is happening.

hi I have been on bisoprolol for 8 years, this was the first medication given following my first serious AF attack

Since that time I have had bouts of AF on and off never so serious as the first and sometimes AF has stayed away for many months

I have kept on the Bisoprolol all this time and find no ill affects at all in fact I have an additional 2.5 tablet to take if needed.

I have had no treatment apart from Bisoprolol.amplodipine and blood thinner

Magnesium has been good learned this on the forum

Hope this helps

Thx Harrybin

Hope you will remain well

I am very sensitive to medication and the side effects stay longer than usual unfortunately.
