Heart block

Had 72 hr tape. Was on bisoprolol now taken off as had episodes of second and third degree heart block. Really worried heart rate going from very low to 100 not got appointment for further tape until end November. Any advice out there. Have informed hospital that really worried

Have you read the excellent NHS web site page on heart block? I think that will relieve your worries a lot. Like the term “heart failure”, it’s one of those phrases that is badly worded because it induces unnecessary fear. The link with beta blockers like bisoprolol hasn’t been shown so that might have been a coincidence.

Thank you I think I am so aware of when heart goes too low and too high. It wakes me up every night now.

A lot of us have “been there”. Anything connected to the heart induces a horrible sense of anxiety, even fear. If you read that article, and speak to your GP, I think you will be reassured.

Hi Lisajack1, I was taken off Bisoprol very quickly but I can't remember why. I'm so sorry. I experienced side effects almost immediately I started taking it.

What side effects and how long did they last? Have three weeks to tape and echo

Lisajack1, I can't remember what the side effects were. I stopped taking Bisoprolol almost Immediately after being subscribed it. I'm very sorry I can't be more helpful.
