Removal of Kardia from back of iPhone - Help please!

Hello

I managed to drop my iPhone yesterday resulting in smashed screen. Very careless!

My insurance covers the phone and I have to send it to them.

Does anyone know how to slide off the Kardia from the back? I have tried.

thanks for any help with this.

Mine just clips on but it is one of the first.

it's quite easy- you may just have to pull the whole thing off as it might be stuck on??

Hi again everyone - thank you.

Right! I’ve just with difficulty levered the thing off with a knife blade. The Kardia itself came flying off and I spent some time getting the gluey mess back off before phone is sent off for replacement

Is there anyway to use the Kardia without iPhone until replacement arrives? I have a MacBook.

I’m reasonably tech but not with this!! Alivecor “ “Help” arent much.

Thanks again for your help

I find it better than the phone. I just position it an inch or so in front of the iPad. I email the result to myself and print them off to show the EP.

Mine isn't very old ... I stuck the holder on the back of the phone and the Kardia just clicks in. I took mine off recently with the aid of knife blade..ie out of the holder

I changed phones and broke the cover on trying to remove the Kardia. I had to start at one end and lift it slightly (that’s all you can do!) and ‘cut’ the glue with a thin metal implement (cannot remember what I used, could have been a bent paper clip!). Took some time and some acetone to remove residual glue but managed it in the end! Good luck!

Thank you Jess. I’m going to tackle today as the phone has to go to the insurers tomorrow.

How did you get it back onto your replacement phone?

Hi foxglove1, my Kardia is attached to the phone protector cover, and i can just slip it off and attach to another phone without having to resort to knives etc to remove it. You could purchase a cover and attach it to it. Good luck with that!

thanks everyone. Think I have got it now!

When my replacement phone arrives I shall either attach to phone protector thing or not attach to anything and just use when I need to in front of the phone.

Thanks again for your replies.

have a lovely Sunday!

If it’s like mine, you first slide the Kardia out of the attachment plate. That keeps the Kardia safe. Then you have 2 options. Buy a replacement attachment plate from Amazon (£18) or try and remove the attachment plate from your phone. I removed mine with a knife and most of the glue was still on it. Stored the plate until I got my new phone and attached the plate to new phone and slid the Kardia into it. Couldn’t use the Kardia while waiting for new phone but it was only 2 days.

Thanks Lindadaisy

You’ll probably have seen the other helpful responses.

I’ve done what you and others have done j (what a palaver) the knife blade to remove, the glue mess etc.

Don’t think I’m going to attach when the new phone comes. I’ll see.

Many thanks

I tried using mine not attached when I first got it and found it too much of a fuss to get it out of its protective wrapping. But in the end it’s what works best for you.

Like others, I bought a replacement plate when I bought a new phone. About $10 I think. I do still pop the Kardia out now and then to do a direct from the chest reading. You get a smoother reading that way. I’ve popped mine in and out of the plate enough times that it slides out easily enough now. As a side note, my new phone wasn’t on their list of approved phones when I bought the phone, still worked just fine.

I successfully re-used the slide plate for my Kardia, after removing it from the protective case of my failed phone. To remove it, I ran a sharp knife repeatedly down between the slide and the case, and eventually levered it off. Methylated spirit (alcohol) removed traces of the original glue, and I used small sticky pads to attach it to the new protective silicone case for my new phone (different brand/model).

I've also used the Kardia loose with my Android tablet - another brand again.
