Electrophysiologist - a cardiologist with specific training and experience of the electrics of the heart. Cardiology is split roughly into 3 specialisms - vascular, structural and electrics.

Also I believe the usual person to carry out your ablation. Personally, I insisted on seeing one early on to get the full picture but my cardio's caveat was if you go and see a 'carpet salesman' you are likely to buy a carpet.

Totally agree Bob but the issue is does your house need rewiring or was it just a dripping tap!

It seems that cardiologist wasn't crediting you with having a discerning brain. (And I probably would have come back with "All you sell is linoleum. I want to see what else is out there!) Not very appropriate but on the same level as the doc (LOL) Sorry. Sometimes my brain doesn'talways filter what comes out of my mouth!
