Hi everyone. Some time ago I wrote a post about Amioderone, and what they did to me. Well I came off them. I was six months fre of AF until I fractured a vertabra on my back. They took me in due to spasm and while there I went into AF. All sorted sent home on calcium etc. Week later another bad attack Af in I went again with very bad chest pains thus time. With in a week they fitted a pacemaker and now I am home on the mend. Came out Xmas eve so Xmas was cancelled this year but as I on my own did not mind. All is well and thank goodness no pain except for my back which is horrendous. Hopefully now with more buildup of beta blockers I might get a af free time. They had to fit this as the beta blockers could not be increased as heart rate on resting 38. Hope you all had a good xmas and a happy new year to you all.

Hi I had pacemaker Aug 2014 been a godsend. Set to keep mme at 60 after a while another part activated which raises my heart to 125 if exerting this enables me to exercise. That and pills keep me on even ish keel

Oh, nice to hear from you. It sounds like you have been through a difficult time but are now on the up again. I think we all start our AF journeys with a pacemaker on the list of ways forward when other things don't work and I've been encouraged by many saying how beneficial one can be. I hope you'll find things will be easier and better for you in the New Year.

Sorry to hear that, I had a fright on Christmas Eve but fortunately did not have to cancel Christmas for 7 people! I don't usually do a big Christmas so probably stress 'helped'. I hope you feel better and am interested to hear how you get on with the pacemaker. All my sympathy for the back pain 💞

Hi, super woman. I am pleased they have got your low heart rate sorted. Should give you a bit more energy in due course I'm sure. Sorry your back is playing up - that is not so good and difficult to put up with too. Hope that too settles down soon

Love Wendy

How long and what dosage were you on Amiodarone?

Hello cuore. Sorry not been in touch before but still getting sorted after coming out of hospital. I was only on Amio for a few months but I thought I thought I was going to die. So many things happening all at once, I knew I had to come off. As my heart rate resting is 38/40 I used to lie awake worried in case I stopped breathing or on the other hand gasping for breath. I don,t want to put you off this drug, but at least when I came off I was clear of AF for 6 months as it stays in the system for ages. Then back they came with a vengence and now have pace fitted on 22nd Dec with higher dose of B isoprol. Hope you get on with this drug not everyone is the same so it could be a god send to you Good luck and happy new year.
