Update on my Pace and Ablate

Last Friday I went for the ablation of my sinus node in great trepidation but I needn't have worried as it all went like clockwork. The sedation was wonderful and I was back on the ward within an hour and home in time for tea! The first couple of days were a bit uncomfortable and I dropped off the beta blockers gradually as told to. Am now down - to 2.5 Nebivolol from 10 mg, the Digoxin I stopped immediately. I was a bit breathless at first and I still can't do very much but no AF and best of all is the fantastic improvement in my sleep! It's early days I know but I now have HOPE for a better QOL after 15 years

so good to hear. I've had the pacemaker implanted now and am booked in 4 weeks for the AV node ablation. Feeling a little anxious.

Don't worry it was nothing compared to the pacemaker insertion and so far so good but I'll keep you all informed over the next months or so.

That is good to hear and very reassuring for me because I am heading for node ablation too. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Thats so good to hear reinaway. I have a flash pacemaker which was put in in preparation for sinus node ablation a year ago. After the pm was put in the node ablation was cancelled. Ive been fine apart from the few hours of easily tolerable AF

That sounds great but what is a flash pacemaker? How is it different from a DDD 2 lead pacemaker?
