Hi everyone, as a little thank you to you all for giving me so much valuable information over the past two years while I was coming to terms with AF I thought I would tell you what happened to me two Christmases ago which might amuse you. I was blue lighted to A&E on Christmas Eve with heart rate all over the place and having had a mini stroke. The next thing i knew I was in the Cardiology Ward, wired up to machines and told I had to stay in over Christmas to be monitored for the right meds etc. I was miserable, my nice plans for a family Christmas gone out the window, and although I had a room to myself due to so few people in i finally managed to sleep for a few hours. I woke to a sound in the doorway at about 7.30 and I turned blearily to see standing silhouetted there none other but Elvis Presley! He had the white cat suit and all! In that split second i thought I had left this mortal coil and Elvis had come to escort me to the next place! Well, he stepped into the room and handed me a little gift, waved goodbye and left leaving me reeling with shock and awe. It turned out that he was one of the staff who was an Elvis impersonator in his spare time. He had been asked to hand round gifts to all the patients and decided that he would come in his Elvis gear as he had no Santa outfit. I'm not sure that was a good idea for a lot of heart patients but it made my day and we all dined out on it! May I wish you all a very happy and AF free Christmas and very best wishes for the New Year.

NOW you are talking Badger! My first serious date with my wife involved a 63 Gevrey Chambertin. Lucky my race team never checked my expenses. The Swan at Bucklow Hill staying up for Oulton Park in '77. Pure enjoyment. (And the wine wasn't bad either.)
No Badger, race engineer. '77 was a Monsiure Worth sponsored Alfa GTV which started my involvement with British Touring Car Championship running the Napolina Alfa Romeo cars. Just finished building an engine for one which is being restored. Totally original car even down to the original mechanic who still has some original Snap On spanners from back then. lol
Now there is a coincidence Carol. Not been there since probably 79 as we switched to Novotel for our stays in 80. Not been to Oulton since 2004 mind ( Tour Britannia) and it was a flying visit then.
The old chap who was our waiter could not have been more attentive once I chose the wine as he thought he was on a good tip. I had just come out of hospital following eardrum -graft and Sam booked the hotel for me (two rooms of course) and drove the rig quiet a lot of the way. Can't recall if we won or not but we did win the class championship that year.
How are you doing by the way? Long time not heard from you.

Miguel left the Trust House Forte hotel at Manchester airport to go to the Swan at Bucklow Hill and took several of the Excelsior staff with him the Lebanese waiters Solomon and Lofty and Mr Sherry the wine waiter. ( Not joking)
FawltyTowers was nothing compared to life then in the early 70's.
Just think we could have been sitting at the next table !
I am not doing to bad thank you other than old age catching up fast.The Ablation three years ago is just a far distance memory but still touching wood and counting blessing daily..
