Hi, I am trying to find out more about successful AV Node ablation. Not the other type ablations. or did you decide on Ameodrone instead. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Not sure of the information out there, but no amiodarone for me. Too many horror stories long term and some even short term. I am going for atrial ablation in Jan. , but my EP has mentioned I may end up needing AV node ablation.
Ditto - but since the threat my AF has become more manageable.
Do a search for AV node ablation and/or ‘pace and ablate’ and a few previous posts do come up and purely from memory, quite a few positive outcomes after pace and a late
Pace and ablate has been recommended for me too. I think a second opinion is probable as you never know, new proceedures are coming to the fore and i dont want to go anywhere from where i cannot return. I certainly dont want the amiodorine route. But i have had a double mastectomy that still makes my chest so so tight and have had a cerebral stroke which is limiting my mobity. Need advise and opinions as i'm afraid at least at i knew the devil. I have a better quality of life than some but i would love more energy. I take Apixiban bd and verapamil 40 bd which seems to keep my BP under control. Any ideas?
Hi I have had problems with af for ten years. I have had 5 cardioversions and one ablation, I am now 69 , I opted for AV node and pace as I believe that the longer your heart is out of rhythm the weaker it will become. From what I have read and learned it's rare to stop af at all. Since I had my AV node sorted I have never looked back, I am back in the gym and feel 100% better. Good luck with your choice but don't be afraid .
You are right. It paces the heart, even after AV node ablation you still have AF.
