Yes, Harrybin , I have, but I’ve shown them to health professionals in passing every time I’ve been admitted to hospital and they shrug. Mine isn’t really skin discolouration, more like bruising so I’ve always assumed that it was caused by fluid retention causing the capillaries being damaged.
Yes I have : it started when I started taking apixaban : years ago I had surgery to some varicous veins in my left leg and that is where the discolouration is : I haven’t seen my GP about it - I’ve just ignored it
A very quick google search brought up the following:
rightdiagnosis.com/symptoms...
"The following drugs, medications, substances or toxins are some of the possible causes of Black patches of skin as a symptom.
This list is incomplete and various other drugs or substances may cause your symptoms (see Black patches of skin). Always advise your doctor of any medications or treatments you are using, including prescription, over-the-counter, supplements, herbal or alternative treatments.
Coumadin
Marevan
Warfarin"
However the article does not say if this is serious, and it does give other possible causes, so please see your doctor, just in case!
Possibly, but what meds are you referring to?
Hi Harry. I don't have black marks on my skin but I did have a brown patch on my lower leg and I was told that this was due to circulation problems in that area. I had a saphenous vein ablation and the patch has faded but not gone entirely. Anne
