1 week ago today I had Ablation--- apart from major jaw problems, swelling, pain, bruised tongue and sore throat, I feel pretty ok. However today I took a shower and also washed my hair-- 1st hair wash-- still ok-- but went to dry it--- couldn't hold the hair dryer up to to do it--- hey ho--- I brushed hair and left it-- least it's clean! It is surprising what we take for granted in daily life and equally surprising what we can't do after a procedure. Just because we are not bandaged or in a plaster cast or even in pain----doesn't mean we can stop being extremely careful--- I learnt today that I must not push myself too far--- I am not good at sitting around-- always active normally-- but if I want to return to that way of life I must be patient with myself and realise there is a lot of healing to go on internally! Think I need to write myself a note lol!

1 week after ablation--- lesson 1 !
Like we have always said. Week one TV remote only. Week two you can make a cup of tea. NOW you understand.
Hi Bob no one ever told me anything about testing after the two ablations I had. Mine were done through the groin, do they also go in through t he mouth?
Mine was through the groin-- the tubes in mouth were for intubation and TOE
Hello.
I'm undergoing further tests for heart problems and am due to have a TOE tomorrow morning. Any tips for me; I understand that it isn't pleasant!
Ouch!

Take it really easy and listen to your body. I had my ablation 3 weeks ago and started getting ectopics and a racing heart. I called my arrhythmia nurse who said this is a big procedure leaving the heart very inflamed and angry and to take it easy. I think if we had a big scar it would be easier to do nothing
I agree totally....very hard to realise ourselves just how much of a thrashing the heart has taken....and feel like you if we had a huge dressing scar to remind us and others it would feel more "real". just hope I can keep my actions under control and not overdo things. good luck to you too
Please take it slow. No one told me what to expect after I had my ablation. My EP acted like I would feel fine in two or three days. Can you imagine how shocked I was to feel like a truck had hit me? If I only knew what I know now...
