Have had my device for 5 years - now get unclassified all the time even with HR above 60 bpm - send away for analysis - normal - is it likely to be the device is done ?
Kardia: Have had my device for 5 years... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Kardia
If it is getting a reading then it is working surely?
its getting a reading but all unclassified saying outside their normal parameters when analysed they are all clear - this with varying heart rates i.e not below 60 - this did not used to be the case.
I've had a few of those, came to the conclusion looking closely that the HB was irregular but not irregular enough to be AF? Only thing I could think of 🤔
My Kardia is also old but seems to work fine.
Mine reads unclassified most of the time...also have had afew afib readings lately and pay for clarification reading,,that comes back with bradycardia...not helpful. But I know its working..we check it on my husband and his says normal😕. I feel it’s useless for me. Even sent one reading to my doc that said afib...he read it as normal...i am guessing that means “ normal for me” 😖
My Kardia (six months old) sometimes shows 'Unclassified' also. Having seen a genuine AF trace (I have three from my last session in July), I'm happy to look through the trace and see that it is normal, at least for me. AF is very distinctive. The 'Unclassified' traces when closely examined show a slightly stretched out pause between beats, maybe an interval 10% longer between two of the beats than all the others, sometimes more that one of those. Also sometimes, one of the intervals is slightly shorter, but that doesn't happen as often.
My cheapo blood pressure monitor, by Sanitas, tells me that "A possible cardiac arrhythmia was found" on nearly three quarters of it's readings. That used to worry me, but it doesn't any more.
Just out of curiosity, how often have you had to replace the battery in your Kardia over five years?
