Dilated cardiomyopathy?? Help!

Heyy everyone!!

I recently had an echocardiogram that showed moderate to severe LV dilation- Ejection Fraction is 40-45 and mild LV depression. Also showed trace mitrial and tricuspid regurgitation and the anteroseptal wall is mildly hypokinetic. I have my follow up tomorrow and I've been so worried. Does this mean I have Dilated Cardiomyopathy? I've had bad kidneys for a while but always thought my heart was okay. Im 31 and have two little ones so I'm scared and new at this. Thanks in advance!

Sorry but we are not qualified to comment since we are not medically trained. This forum is for people with atrial fibrillation not cardiomyopathy and you may find a Healthunlocked forum more suited . Good luck with your follow up.

I've been trying to find a forum for this but there's not one. Thanks so much anyways.

Good luck for tomorrow, I hope you get a clear explanation and it is not too serious. It is extra worrying when you have little ones to care for 💞

I have suffered from cardiomyopathy as well as AF. Cardiomyopathy UK were very helpful and have a helpline where you can speak with a cardiac nurse so I suggest you try them

Hope they can help you

Hi sorry to hear this

Research your medication it could be what you are taking

Medications come with dramtic side effects that normaly effect other organs

I know there are many cause s for this

But you are young have you done alot of excerise over the years?!

Personaly for me

Find out the cause uour self

Its your health

Then put back the nutrients that are missing from uour body for good heart health

Get a journal write all this down

Best luck you have age on your side

Hi Sorry to hear this . Is yours a genetic version of (HCM) hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy ? If so, I have recently been helping a friend with genetic HCM . There are two centres of excellence in UK for this abnormality , one is Barts Hospital and the other is Brampton Hospital . You can also get more info. from an American site HCMA which has a forum too , I found the association extremely helpful . Let me know if I can be of any help .
