Back in AF four months after Ablation.

Hi All, in the last week I have started lapsing into AF with lots of ectopics and getting out of breath. The last couple of days have been pretty awful to be honest. I did drink at the weekend and have a slight chest infection, but I am feeling really fed up that I appear to be going backwards. I had gone back to spinning, and am worried that I might have done too much too soon. Has anyone else gone through this?

My first ablation failed I think because I went too hard too soon but after four months I would have thought you were OK. You know now never to drink again obviously. lol Any infection may make AF worse. Don't give up yet. It may clear again.

Thanks Bob,

I am worried that the spinning might be a little much. I have almost removed my alcohol consumption, caffeine consumption, and exercise is my only remaining passion

Wot Bob said.......... could be a blip. My AF came back last September after nearly 3 years clear but I think I worked out some triggers and since I changed a few things, no episodes for quite a few weeks now so the goal posts do move.

Take it easy until your body recovers from infection, plenty of rest, fluids and stay off the alcohol and practice some breathing exercises and see what happens.

Hope it is just a blip for you.

Are you sure it is AF and not just Ectopics or Tachycardia? Is it irregular or impossible to count?

It is pretty irregular. Sadly I can pretty much spot the difference between AF and Ectopics now, and I am certainly having AF incidents. I am pretty sure the major cause is the chest infection I have picked up

it will be the chest infection - combined with any alcohol is not good , get the infection cleared and all may be well.
