Things like Caffiene (strong tea, coke) I cut down to 2 drinks a day.

I increased my overall fluid intake as much as I could manage, now about 3 litres a day.

I tried semi-regular exercise (outside of working 8-12 hour days on a ward)

I seldom drink alcohol - only special occasions and don't get bladdered.

I cut down the amount of salt I use in cooking, and usually just tell people to "season to taste" once it's plated up.

Sadly, it's not really made much difference at this point in time. And I'm now 8 DC cardioversions in, and 2 ablations about to have a third.

My advice would be not to do anything strenuous for a week or so and let your heart get used to beating correctly. I climbed a hill a few days after my last one and my heart immediately went back into AF.
