AF Trigger and possible self-cardioversion solution

Me again.

Much talked about subject I know, but this evening I feel that I have got my head around what triggers me into AF. Previously I have stated that exercise triggers me. This is true, but what I have realised today is that ANYTHING that elevates my HR to a certain level (let's call it "X"), and for a certain duration (let's call it "Y") will trigger me. I haven't yet quantified what X and Y are numerically, but perhaps in time I will. Feels like a minor breakthrough for me though, even if it's not the conclusion I was hoping for.

On a more exciting point, having spent 24 hours in AF from yesterday evening, today I received a scam phone call from someone pretending to be a bailiff who threatened to come round to my business and seize goods unless I repaid a phoney debt to him over the telephone. For the first few minutes I thought it was genuine. My adrenaline and my HR went through the roof. I soon realised it was a scam and hung up, and when I took an ECG a few minutes later, I was in NSR!! I have read elsewhere that some people self cardiovert with exercise (clearly this doesn't work for me) but perhaps a massive release of adrenaline does. This could be total coincidence, or could it be real?

I did once revert from AF to NSR during a rare verbal altercation with my wife - i.e. adrenalin pumping. Now whenever I am in AF she offers to yell at me :-)

I don't need AF for that!

I have found that certain situations have kicked me back into NSR eg having to make a presentation to a large group of people or chair a meeting. It is as if the preparation and anticipation at the event does the trick.

I reverted on the last day of a cruise when i cashed in my winning chips at the roulette table.

That was in February and I've been in NSR since.

The wife says if i go into AF again we are going to have a night at the casino

Just shows how different we all are. Adrenaline does exactly the opposite to me. It's on my hospital 'banned' list!
