best cures for heartburn

Is this post ablation? This forum is for people with Atrial Fibrillation and digestive problem post ablation are quite common due to possible heat damage to the oesophagus. It should calm after a week or two.
could this be an hiatus hernia?A symptom is heartburn.Ask your GP to check next time you visit.
Mine only came on at night and I'd get up and eat a banana. Someone on this forum advised me to stop eating yogurt, which I would have thought was good for it. I did as they said and my heartburn stopped. Almonds and apples are meant to help, but are not an instant cure like the banana was.

Try Ginger prior to meals - also has your GP considered a bacteria found in the stomach called H.Pylori which can often be the cause of indigestion - but then as Bob says is this happening post Ablation ? Cathy
I find peppermint tea helps mine
I use a tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar in water. It sounds wrong to take an acid if you have an acid reflux, but it actually works. I found that I had been prescribed medicines for high stomach acid when I actually had low stomach acid and my stomach was churning away trying to digest food and causing me problems.
There are many articles on the web. See this: healthline.com/health/diges...
A teaspoon of proper licensed Manuka honey just before bed and after meals works a treat.
Also fresh lemon squeezed in warm water (also fab for nausea)
I had taken lansaporazole for ages because I get acid reflux prior to AF bouts but have now stopped taking them in favour of alternatives and have found these work. Sadly bananas increase my acidity so they are out.
Different things work for different people ....,, good luck 😉
Gaviscon, aka Peptac Liquid (obtainable on prescription) plus most of the supermarkets have their own version. It comes iin 2 flavours, Aniseed (my favourite!) or Peppermint.
