I have been advised to take this daily due to my CHADs vac score, age hypertension PAF and female!! I tried 2 others Rivaroxaban and Apixaban but they caused a few problems so hoped it would be 3rd time lucky. However I am now suffering severe indigestion and heartburn. Could this be a side effect or just my gut system?
I should mention I take Omeprazole daily but that isn’t doing much good so Gaviscon it is.

Hi bluemoon, at least I dont feel too sick, just the burping and back pain but I am now taking a Rennies heartburn product, you can chew or suck them. At least the heartburn is easing. My GP said try these and see if I can tolerate them, will give them a few more weeks.
Thank you John, I did wonder if it was the lasagne and a a merangue dessert we had on Sunday . I will try to watch my diet after this has settled down.By the way do you take your in the day or in the evening. I am taking mine around 7pm after my meal.
Had a review with a pharmacist at my surgery a few months ago and she said I was taking my omeprazole wrong and told me to take it on an empty stomach half hour before breakfast. Might be worth trying for you.
Hi, I was initially put on Apixaban but had stomach issues with it so now on Edoxaban 30mg which I take around 6am every morning. I do get issues with burping after meals but feel the burping is down to food as my etopics play up especially after eating. So perhaps the meds are not the cause?? I am staying on Edoxaban as I have problems taking medication in general so I'm relieved I can actually tolerate this anticoagulant.
Hi Cheri JOY, I have had a GB infection about 25 years ago which was treated with antibiotics and that has left it sensitive so I dont eat much that has fat otherwise it grumbles. I had an endoscopy in 2021 when I was having issues but nothing amiss was found 😊
Things are settling back so hopefully its just one a one off.
Trying taking Edoxaban in morning so it has the day to be absorbed.
