There is a vast difference between "platelet aggregation" and thombii remember. Usual caveat always discuss any supplement with your medical team so well done on that one..

Hi Alan, the NOAC anticoagulants seem to be ok with most foods so rather than taking a supplement why not just eat foods containing the required ingredient. That way it is not so concentrated and the other things contained within your food can help to break down compounds so that you get the full benefit .

I grow 20+ heads of garlic all of which I usually eat myself (not all at once though ;-) ) my doctor says a little garlic in my meals should not conflict with Apixaban.

Thanks for posting this Alan, much appreciated. I agree with Doodle that if you can source quality grown organic food of the right type, Nature has combined it with other things to make it most effective for your body rather than swallowing man made concentrated extracts only.

Drugs blood thinners=anticoagulants. Most foods that I know and you mentioned(not pills) are antiplatelets not anticoagulants.

the information in the drug packaging tells what to avoid while taking the drug, whether warfarin/coumadin or a NOAC/DOAC. it's more detailed than anything my MD or anticoag clinic has said.
