I will talk to the doc if he can reduce the dosage to 2.5mg per dose from 5 mg.

If this change has occurred since he started Apixaban, he should mention it to his doc. I've had no problems with it in three and a half years.

Elderly people may be more sensitive to it: perhaps a lower dose would be better - consult your doctor. Also look at what other drugs/supplements he is taking - they may not mix well with the apixaban. A pharmacist may be able to help with this.

I've always had sleep issues but now you mention it I do tend to stay up later - often 2 or 3am - before I feel tired enough to go to bed. Fortunately I'm self employed so just re-schedule the next day to suit whenever I get up.

When he started apixaban, he also started taking statin40mg, I am surprised why that was added to the stack when his cholesterol level is normal. I suspect the statin could contribute to his uncomfortable feeling too, this will be a point I will ask the doc during the review.

Not a known side effect and not one I have experienced. You may need to take the search wider.
