I often feel my one digging in when laying on my left side. I thought at one time that it had moved and my GP agreed. However the pacemaker clinic and the cardiologist said that it was well seated. It looks more apparent than it did (fitted July 2015 ). Their reply to that was tissue was probably growing round it.
I had not felt it when in bed recently then realised that I was using a thinner pillow. I put the thicker one back on and could feel the pacemaker again so the different head height changes the pressure on my chest.
I don't find my PM moves but it does protrude quite a bit and you can see the lead connections. However the effects have been worthwhile, only one af event in nearly eighteen months.
Hi, gosh that sounds like me asking the question, I worry about the same thing, had my pacemaker in Feb it isn't a problem until night time & I am conscious of it moving slightly, I like you keep my hand over it while going to sleep, but have been told that's not a problem.
I have had a pacemaker for about the same time as you. It has never moved. Do you mention this when you go for your yearly check up? I certainly would if I were you. I think it would scare me if this happened. Get professional advice about it.
Well, mine does move slightly and has dropped a little from it's original position after 7 years. I don't really worry about it bit if it shifted to my left toe I would. Just ask your question when you get to the clinic next time. I am very active and would expect it to move. Stay well. Dave.
Hi .my first pacemaker was what I call a good fit no problems at all .
My second one is a different matter it is further down and moves no matter what side I sleep on ( I found sleeping with a sports bra on helps keep it in place) I have been advised to keep an eye on it for any bruising redness or pain anything like that to get back to pacemaker clinic ASAP .. To reposition would leave me open to infection so best to leave it alone.
