Poor Jean, So sorry to read the problems you have had?

Sincerely hope the leads are functioning correctly now?

Have you considered soft padding to help you get over the soreness- for a short while ,at least?

Is it possible you can contact family or a friend to walk with you?

I wish you all the very best... It will get easier -over time.

Hi Jean post pacemaker implant I got some soft bras trade name ah bra but lots of others in market. No fastenings and I used to step into them and pull them up. Sainsburys def do them there own version that is. If you are not having the symptoms you were having then trust in it working. They did a check before you left. I am just over a year down the line and can go to the gym again don't do as much as I once did but back after having a rumour removed from my heart. I take meds to control my arrythmias but the pacemaker doing its job give it time you will forget it's there😀

Hi Jean

I do hope you will get your confidence back soon. How long ago did you have your pacemaker implanted? If if is less than 6 weeks, you must be careful not to lift your arm on the pacemaker side no higher than shoulder height, but I'm sure the hospital told you that. Take it easy but you must go out and about. The pacemaker clinic will check the leads 6 weeks after implantation and tweak the pacemaker settings if needed. If the leads are not working I am sure you would know. Read the leaflet the hospital gave you and if in doubt get in touch with the pacemaker clinic. As for comfortable bras, I carried on wearing the same ones after my pacemaker (fitted last August) and have had no problem. Everyone is different, so I think finding one that is comfortable for you is best. There are a lot of underwear companies out there so get in touch and see what they have to offer. Your pacemaker is a back up to help your heart so it's like having a friend with you should your heart need a hand in keeping it beating properly. Take a deep breath, wrap up warm and go out for a breath of air. Remember, you are never alone on this forum, there is always someone to talk to.

With best wishes

Carol

Hi coral thank you for your feedback wearing bra today going out today feeling much better now I know I m not alone and can talk to some one orther than my family its not knowing that worrys me will get back to later jean

My friend wasn't allowed to wear bra for 6 weeks, but used loose clothes. She definitely needed support of friends, couldn't drive for quite a while, and only gradually resumed her job. But the great news is she has recovered well and is pleased with pacemaker. There probably is some post-implantation anxiety which is normal here and should pass as you feel better.
