I have a CT Cardiac Angiogram booked at the Norfolk & Norwich hospital for Saturday 20th May. I've been told an outside company provides the service.
Can group members provide advice from their experience.
I'm hoping family will pick me up and take me home.

This procedure involves having a canula placed in your arm spending about ten to fifteen minutes lying in the CT machine whilst being told various instructions such as when to breathe in or hold your breath etc. During this time you will also be told that special dye is being injected through the canula which will enable the radiographer to see your blood vessels. There is no discomfort just a cold feeling as the dye travels and an urge to pee but don't worry cause you don't!! A simple procedure and nothing to worry about. Quite interesting really, all the best. 😊
Yes, do try and have someone pick you up. Make sure you've got a few days off work after to let the wound heal. It was on my advice sheet on the day but no one mentionedit to me before hand so I only planned the one day off ! Your not supposed to use the arm for a day or so until the dressing comes off.
Take something to read! Lots of waiting around too....
