Support stockings

I will be making a short flight 2-3 hours...any ideas on whether I should be using the stockings. My last flight was 15 hours and cardio advised to buy and wear them. Not sure about a short flight if its necessary. Thanks again

I don't know whether it's necessary for a short flight, but it's probably advisable and since you already have the stockings I think I'd wear them if it were me. However, I have no directly relevant experience or knowledge and I'm sure others here can be more helpful/informative.

Hya, yes - even though I only do short flights now, I always wear support stockings. I must say they are really comfortable and when I reach my destination I don't rush to take them off!

I never wear them unless forced to do so, as my leg swells up around them and my ankles develop Michelin type rings. I hope the anticoagulant will stop the dreaded DVT

Sounds like your wearing a size too small.

They come in three different foot sizes with three different leg size for each foot size and then you have normal compression socks in three different classes of compression.

I use the lowest compression (class 1 ) with the biggest size 43 - 47

Yes. It improved slightly with larger size but still had swelling. Nurse at hospital didn't want me to try larger size as I measured for smaller. It won't be effective he said

If these are hospital issue they are different to the premium brands.

I have had hospital issue but I wouldnt wear them for flights.

I found the best way to check which work is wear a pair to bed , if swollen next day their too tight. Took a few trys before I happened on the right size .

Even knee length Coolmax socks are very similar to Class 1 compression.(IMO)

My feet dont swell if wearing them , maybe just a coincidence ;)

So hospital issue are no good then? Interesting

No nothing wrong with Hospital issue but they are made to be thrown away not washed a lot and reused time after time.

Not what you're looking for?
