I was exactly the same in PAF - always had to lie down and breathe until the episode passed and could barely stagger to the bathroom. Thankfully, the episodes lasted for usually only a couple of hours and now Flecainide takes care of them.
Someone once suggested an audio book to distract the mind during AF - anything being better than the bag of ferrets in the chest. It's good that you have ablation on the horizon.
Thanks for your message.I take 100mg flecanide×2 bisoprolol 5mgx2 lisinopril 5mgx1and lisinopril 2.5 x1 but they don't work so well as they use to. A pvi can only be better than this even if not acompletely successful
When I have an episode I can't stand, I'd just fall. Thankfully at the moment, mine don't last too long. I get loads of weirdness in between though. Know how you feel.
Hi Jane - It's a horrible feeling isn't it! When in hospital on one occasion and my blood pressure had dropped really low, I was told that drinking water would help bring it up higher. So you could see if that helps.
Yes I have been trying to rehydrate. I had the dreaded continual toilet visits through the night doe to the paf.
Hope it will be just a 1 day episode not a few days.
Just hoping I will get a better quality of life in the future.I am only 77 yes this year I have a lot of living to do and places to go and can'take wait!
Hope you have settled down a bit now Jane, it is very wearing when episodes like this happen. I can remember how I used to get the long night visits to the loo, once in A&E the nurse didn't realise how it affects the bladder and I got really uncomfortable.
My ablation gave me my life back so here's hoping you get an op soon.
